Technical Management
The Technical Department is organizing, supervising and managing all the repair works on board of NMB vessels. With a team of qualified superintendants and engineers, regularly visiting all of the ships, the department is responsible for the good technical condition, repair schedule and long lasting relations with leading repair yards not only in Bulgaria but also worldwide. It is committed to maintain the vessels in the fleet in full compliance with international conventions of the IMO, conventions of International Labour Organizations, Flag State control, Classification Societies and Port State control.

Our superintendents are responsible for monitoring the vessels condition and all aspects of their performance and operation, including:
  • safe and efficient cargo handling and cargo conditioning
  • planned and project maintenance
  •  regular condition assessment
  • dry dock planning and supervision
  • budget control
  • certification and vetting

NMB technical staff works as a "Team", thereby ensuring a very composite and controlled environment for our fleet. It consists of experienced and educated professionals with degrees from leading Bulgarian and international academies and universities.
Our solid relationships with first-class suppliers, workshops and marine service providers ensure that our principals consistently receive reliable and high-quality service at the lowest possible price.In addition to the above NMB technical staff is ready to provide full technical management in cases as follows:
  • Pre-purchase ships condition survey and inspection
  • Pre-dry dock inspection and preparation of repair specification
  • Negotiations with ship repair yards
  • Dry dock repair supervision
  • Ascertainment of damage to the ship hull structural elements and machinery
  • Supervision of damage repair afloat and in the dry dock
  • Support of Hull & Machinery damage claims
  • Supply of spare parts both new direct from manufacturers & where requested reconditioned equipment
  • IHM certification
All ships are operated in an environmentally safe manner and supervisors continually maintain safeguards against identified risks.
