On November 7, 2007 was the official naming ceremony of m/v Pirin. She is a 21 200 dwt bulk carrier with overall length – 168.5 m, breadth – 25.0 m, depth – 11.5 m, built at Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry JSC, Varna, Bulgaria. The certification society of the vessel is Germanischer Lloyd. Godmother of the ship became Ms Pepa Mollova – the Chief of the Transport Minister`s Cabinet. She wished good luck to the ship and crew. Pirin, which is Bulgarian flagged, was delivered in the presence of many official guests, incl. Mr Sergey Stanishev – the Prime-Minister of Bulgaria and Mr Petar Mutafchiev – Minister of Transport. The trading area of the ship is unlimited, worldwide.

 

There is one more vessel ordered by NMB at Bulyard, which is in the Large Dry Dock of the Shipyard – hull No 515. She is a sistership of the below mentioned Stara Planina.

 

On 18 June 2007 was the official naming ceremony of m/v Stara Planina. She is a 42 600 dwt geared bulk carrier with overall length  – 176.88 m, breadth – 30 m, draught – 16.2 m, built at Bulyard, Bulgaria. The vessel is double-classed –  the first certification society is Bureau Veritas and the second one – Bulgarian Register of Shipping. Godmother of the ship became Ms Krasimira Stoyanova - the Chairman of NMB Board of Directors. She wished good luck to the ship and crew. Stara Planina was delivered in the presence of many official guests, incl. Mr Petar Mutafchiev – Minister of Transport.

 

On 11 May 2007 as part of its fleet renewal strategy NMB acquired a second-hand vessel named Verila (ex-Lark). The bulk carrier is 23 723 dwt, built in 1996 by Shin Kurushima Dockyards Co.Ltd. Her basic characteristics are:

-         overall length – 150.52 m

-         breadth – 26 m

-         draught – 9.57 m

The vessel is Bulgarian flagged, and the certification society is NK Register of Ships.

Sailing area – unlimited. The vessel has been already time-chartered.

 

On 19th December 2006 a new ship, ordered by NMB, was launched from the large dry dock of the “Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry”. She is a 42 600 dwt bulk carrier, named “Stara planina”, with an unlimited area of sailing. Now the vessel will undergo equipment completion and is expected in April-May 2007 to be ready for her sea trials. This is the first of the three newbuildings, ordered by NMB in “Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry”.
